Vampires Don't Sparkle Ch. 02

Ben and Emily had been together a few months now. Ben was really falling hard for her. She only fed once every couple of weeks but they would always make an evening of it. She would take him out to dinner to make sure he had a good meal to help him replenish what she was about to take from him. They would then return to his place where they had amazing sex which always ended with the bite. As strange as it sounded one of His favorite parts of feeding night was that after the sex she would always stay as long as she could laying with him to make sure he was alright. Dating a vampire was definitely different from dating a normal woman but there were many times he would almost forget her condition. As different as she was she was also a lot like your every day girl. They would see movies together, they saw the occasional play or sometimes just walked around the city. If the day was cloudy enough they would go to the Museum of Science, the aquarium or anything else they could think of that was only open during the day. Some nights they just simply cuddled on the couch and watched a movie without it even leading to sex, although they did have sex regularly and it was always amazing.

As happy as they were there were still things about her that were a mystery to him. He had never seen where she lived as they almost always hung out at his place if they weren't going out anywhere. She had no real friends at least none that he knew of, and just recently he noticed something strange. He tried to make plans to take her ice skating as they had just opened the seasonal rink in the city. At first she was all excited until she looked at the calendar and suddenly her mood changed.

"Wait, sorry I can't see you Friday."

He took out his phone and decided to check his calendar again and he noticed the last time she couldn't see him it was also a full moon. He remembered the date because it was the opening night of a movie they wanted to see but she couldn't which he thought was a little strange at the time. Noticing this pattern he was becoming more and more curious.

The night came and went and he never heard from her. He tried to call her but she wouldn't answer the phone. The next night he met up with her and took her ice skating like he had planned. She was a lot better at it than he was and she almost looked like a professional on the ice. Given her age she's probably had a lot of practice. Ben on the other hand was trying everything not to fall flat on his face to which he almost did a few times to her amusement. As he watched her glide on the ice he couldn't help but just stare at her as she looked like an angel.

Later on after a few falls and a few laughs mostly at Bens expense they went for a walk around the city looking at the newly decorated Christmas lights. Ben couldn't get the whole full moon thing off his mind but wasn't sure how to bring it up. He also didn't want to chance ruining a perfect evening but he couldn't put it down.

"Emily?" He asked taking her hand."

"Yes Ben?"

"Um, I want to ask you about something but don't take it the wrong way?"

"Ask away!"

"Ok, why don't I know more about you?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, where do you live? Do you have any friends or family? And why do you avoid me on full moon?"

"Oh..........that!" Emily said before she stood in silence for a few moments. "I don't know if we are quite there yet!"

"Quite where?"

"Its just........ I really like you Ben, and...... there are some things about me that.......... I don't want to hurt you!"

Ben looked her in the eyes and was a little confused. Her eyes were starting looked like she was actually afraid of telling him the truth. As confused as he was though he held her hand tighter and pulled her in holding her close for a moment just trying to comfort her.

"I'm sorry!" She said as she sobbed a little against his chest.

He held her a moment longer before he said the only thing he could and the only thing he thought mattered. "It's ok I still love you!"

"What?" She said looking up at him with a shocked look on her face.

Ben suddenly realized what he said to her almost surprised that he did. The more he thought about it though he soon realized it was true, he did love her.

"I love you Emily." He said again now starting to worry a little about how she would react. She stared at him for what seemed like forever as he waited for her response, any response. He was getting more worried as she said nothing and just had the same shocked look on her face still staring at him

"Those are dangerous words to say to a Vampire!"

"I don't care, I love you and any danger that comes with that will be worth it!"

She looked at him a little while longer with the same shocked look on her face until she finally smiled. "I hope so!" She said before she pulled him in for a kiss. He started to feel a little better as his lips connected with hers and he held her tightly in his arms in the cold night air.

He really did love her and was willing to do whatever he had to do to keep her in his life. However he couldn't help but wonder what she meant by danger, and the fact that she didn't say it back was also bothering him. they continued to walk around the city looking at the different decorations.

About a month later she asked him if he wanted to come see her place for the first time. he was really excited until he noticed that it was a full moon that night.

"Is that a problem? ha asked.

"No, it's tme I showed you something."

She gave him her address and told her to meet her there around 3:00pm. He was a little excited because he was finally going to see where she lived but he was also a little nervous about what she wanted to show him..

He arrived outside a tall building downtown. He must have double checked the address 5 times making sure he was in the right place. It was a beautiful building with stone Gryphon statues out front. He walked in the front door as a large gentleman opened it for him.

"Thank you!" He said looking up at the large man who just nodded his head as he walked past.

He walked over to the counter and asked the man behind it if this was in fact Emily place. He smiled and told him to take the elevator to the top floor. Ben thanked him and headed for the elevator which had an old man standing inside who asked him "what floor?" Ben told him the top floor and he pushed the button closing the door. A few seconds had gone by before the little old man said "You must be Ben!"

"Excuse me?"

"Its ok Lad, Emily told me to expect you!"

"Oh, and you are?"

"You can call me Charlie! I've worked here for about 40 years, known Emily just as long!"

"Oh!" He said suddenly wondering how much he knew.

"I must say I've never seen her this happy before."

"Oh, really?"

"Yup, she's brought a few guys home now and then but it almost always ended with heartbreak! I can see why she waited so long to bring you here."

Ben started to process what Charlie was saying to him. He started to wonder how many men were scared off because of what she was and they couldn't handle it.

"You love her don't you?" Charlie asked looking up at Ben.

"Why do you say that?"

Charlie smiled before he said "I can see it in your face, but I will tell you this!"

Bean waited to hear what the old man had to say or what warning he had to give him. "Yes?" He asked.

"You break her heart and I'll feed you to some of her comrades!" He said with a very serious look on his face.

Ben stared at him for a moment trying not to show any signs of fear until Charlie suddenly started laughing out loud. Ben couldn't help but laugh too.

"Im just kidding, you break her heart and she'll probably make sure they never find your body."

Ben stopped and thought about that for a second. She would be perfectly capable of killing him easily! "That's probably true!" He replied to the old man.

"Top floor, here's your stop!"

"Good talking to you Charlie!" He said exiting the elevator in to a hallway with one large door at the end of the. He walked towards the door hearing the elevator close behind him. He felt a little nervous all of a sudden. It was an empty hallway with one door and very quiet. He kept walking until he reached the door and knocked.

A few moments went by and he didn't hear anything but before he went to knock again he heard the handle wiggle and the door opened. Emily was standing there looking as great as ever wearing a bathrobe over a t-shirt and some night shorts while smiling at him. "welcome to my home!" She said moving aside inviting him in and closing the door behind him.

Ben looked around at the hallway in front of him. There were pictures on the walls and glass cases full of strange things but the first thing that caught his eye was the suit of armor on the right side of him and then the storm trooper armor right across from it.

"That is awesome!" He said looking the armor up and down.

"I thought you'd like that!" She said laughing at him a little. "I bought that years ago, during a time when i was bored and spent some money on crazy things!"

"I see you met Charlie."

"Did he say anything about killing you?"

"It might have come up!"

"Ben, in about an hour or so I need you to do something for me."

She smiled at him before she walked over to a cabinet on the wall opening it up and revealing 4 chains with cuffs attached. There were 2 for hands and 2 for feet.

"Is this some 50 shades thing?"

"I'm going to need you to lock me in."

"Ok? Then what!"

"That's up to you, just promise you won't touch me or come anywhere near me! And you won't release me until morning."

"What? really? Why?"

"For your own good! Also don't believe a word I say, I may try to trick you in to letting me out"

"What's going on here? Are you a werewolf too or something?"

"No, not a wolf but........ the full moon has an effect on Vampires. We become very wild and sort of lose our self control."

"Really? Like what would happen?"

"I don't know, I may kill you or, Drink you, Fuck you, or all three, It's the one night where I'm afraid I'll hurt someone or worse!"

Ben walked over and took her by the hand and held her close for a moment. "So that's why you avoid me on the full moon?"

"I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you but I was afraid!"

"Of what?"

"I've scared away a lot of men in my life, and every time you learn something new about me I'm always afraid that........"

"I'm not going anywhere Emily!"

"We'll see!"

He held her for a few moments before they laid down on the bed together. They cuddled together as he ran his fingers through her hair. A little while later she said "Sun's going down, it's time!"

She stood in the chamber and placed her hands in the cuffs looking at Ben to lock her in. He was reluctant at first but he locked them followed by her ankles locking them in as well. She tested the chains to make sure she couldn't escape and seemed satisfied with his work.

"Who locked these before?"

"Charlie would lock me in, but he's starting to get a little old."

"I see, Now what?" He asked watching his girlfriend locked in chains.

"Can you stay with me? At least until it starts?"

She pulled away to his surprised before she said "It's too risky!"

He smiled and moved quicker connecting his lips with hers holding it for a moment before he pulled away and said "worth it!"

Emily smiled a little as the sun finished its decent in to night time. Ben sat down on the bed waiting with her as the moon began to take it's toll on her. Nothing major seemed odd at first as she more or less just flirted with him asking him if the chains turned him on or not and trying to pull her shirt down showing off some skin which was hard given the chains.

"I think you should stay in there for now." He said watching her breath and writhe in chains. Eventually she went limp passing out from either pain or exhausting herself. He stayed up all night to make sure she didn't hurt herself or escape. Finally he looked at his phone and knew the sun was coming up soon. He waited until the morning sky brightened and he could actually see the sun when he moved the curtains.

He walked over to her lifting her head up to see her teeth which had retracted. He opened up one of her eyes and to looked to be normal again. He removed the chains letting her fall in to his arms before carrying her over to the bed laying her down gently. He wrapped her wrists up in bandages trying to soak up the blood from her wounds.

He laid in bed with her to make sure she was alright watching her sleep for a while and he even dosed off a little after being up all night. What started as a small nap turned in to hours of sleep.

Hours later Emily awoke looking around the room before she noticed an arm around her waist holding her tightly. She looked over her shoulder to see Ben asleep next to her. She then looked at the bandages on her wrists which she removed as her wounds healed quickly. After laying there for a while she rolled over facing Ben and watched him sleep. A smile came over her face as she watched him realizing everything he had done for her. He had stayed with her all night and even stayed with her most of the day.

Ben began to awaken squinting as it was hard for him to focus. Once he could see better he saw Emily smiling face. "Emily? Are you ok?" He asked widening his eyes to get a better look at her.

"You stayed?"

"Of course I did!"

"You stayed with me all night and all day!"

"All day? What time is it?" He asked not realizing he slept the day away with her.

"I taunted you, tried to trick you and could have killed you even, but you stayed."

"I told you before, the danger is worth it!"
