Horizontal dancing (sonnet)

You tossed your hair, you looked at me and smiled.
You spoke my name, and so I took my chance.
I held your hand, you trusted like a child,
I pulled you to me. We began to dance.

My left, your right-hand fingers intertwined,
This soft-butch woman – me – I took the lead.
Your body-heat and scent messed with my mind.
I whirled you off your feet. I felt your need!

Not you nor I anticipated this –
The way our bodies melded as we spun.
What could we do but touch and feel and kiss?
Our dance could not be ended, once begun.

This dance of ours, together on our bed,
Is set to play and rewind in my head.
