I Despair

Is the pain I cause you so consuming
That you have to lash out in return
And let blind rage take over your thinking
Are the feelings you have so corrupted
Because I can’t see love in your eyes
And I can’t see the man I once knew
When did desperation take over your thoughts
Did I fail you so badly, so soon
If I cried, would you hold me, and rock me to sleep
Or would you leave me there to despair
I am trying to find you, but all I can see
Is the man you became, full of anger
