Where's my Lover's Love Letters?

With head in hands I wait,
Love letters to arrive,
It's been more than two weeks,
I hurt with injured pride.

Once he wrote me daily,
And now I'm just old news,
He told me all the time,
That I'm his perfect muse.

Has his inspiration
Grown cold in just a year?
I thought I was special,
I'm not, holding back tears.

He said that he loved me,
That must have been a lie,
I long to hear from him,
I see his cheery smile.

Women don't forget men.
Their love lasts longer too,
We're just fleeting fodder
That men love to abuse.

I won't wait any more,
My pride informs me so.
Don't waste more time on him,
Stand tall and let him go.

Someone in your future,
This man goes in your past,
Perhaps this next lover,
Will be the one, your last.

Here's the mail carrier,
Twelve letters at one time!
He said they were misplaced,
I love him so, he's mine!
