Trapped by Two Loves

The ones I love, so different are they.
One a ginger, so fiery and so fair.
She steals my soul every time I watch her sleep, see her eat, and hear her laugh.

My heart is torn when I see her pain and hear her anguish. I burn to make her whole again.

The other, so dark, so lonely, and so strange.
She confuses, irritates, and yet cries out to me from the tormented heart within.

I see in her eyes, those gray-green orbs,
the whole that is more than the sum of her vain and spoiled parts.

Yes, so very distinct, these loves of mine, yet I know that I am unable to cease my love for them.

Yet what else can I do? My love is a trap with two strong jaws. I am caught in it forever for I keep myself there.

I cannot cease to love them and I would not if I could.

It is the trap that my nature sprung on me.
I cannot, will not let me go.
